Dates

The 2027 Sundance Film Festival runs January 21 to 31 in Boulder, Colorado. World premieres are concentrated in the first six days, and screenings continue through the final weekend. Online screenings are available nationwide January 28 to 31.

Tickets and passes

Sundance announced its ticket and pass structure in September 2026. Passes and packages go on sale in October, the film lineup is announced in December, and individual film tickets go on sale in early January. The festival has said it is developing options aimed at Colorado residents and students. Check sundance.org for the current state of sales.

Where the films play

Eleven primary venues across Boulder, most of them civic and university spaces being fitted with cinema sound and projection for the festival: Boulder Theater, Chautauqua Auditorium, Macky Auditorium, eTown Hall, Dairy Arts Center, Roe Green Theatre, Muenzinger Auditorium, the Boulder Public Library’s Canyon Theater, Old Main on the CU Boulder campus, and the Boulder High School and Casey Middle School auditoriums. Cinemark Century Boulder is the one conventional multiplex on the map.

Staying in Longmont

Longmont is sixteen miles from Boulder, a twenty to thirty minute drive to the screenings. Downtown has locally owned restaurants, a dozen-plus breweries, boutique shops, and a new boutique hotel on Main Street. Lodging runs well under Boulder festival-week prices: when Airbnb listings for the festival’s opening night were surveyed in August 2026, Boulder homes ranged from $183 to nearly $8,000 a night while Longmont listings sat around $77 to $113 (prices at the time; expect both to climb as the festival nears). Getting here

Denver International Airport is about an hour from Boulder and from Longmont. Longmont sits between the airport and Boulder along the route in.
